VIVID- a photographers paradise!
A wonderland for night photographers, Sydney comes to life in a magical array of colours, and we’d like to help you capture it. Your own personal photographer will be able to answer your questions, to make sure you get what you want out of the session.
As a photographer, you can learn not just how to not just capture beautiful landscapes, but how to move into the frame and become an artist, unleashing your creativity in endless ways.
You’ll learn how to use light as “paint”, and how to best use torches, flashes, LEDs and other light sources as “brushes”. We’ll even give you some LEDs to keep, as half the fun is in front of the camera, playing with light.
Being just your group, you can also take the opportunity to have a photoshoot, resulting in some special photos that you can cherish. Great for couples, families and friends.
Your photographer will meet you on the grass outside the MCA, from there you will have two main options (although you can do a mixture of both)
1)Â NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY MASTERCLASSÂ :
- Overview on photography and light
- Light illumination
- Studio/style portraits
- Torches and other light tools
- Light writing and light painting
- Using off camera flash
- Advice and ideas for making the most of VIVID festival
After this session, you’ll be inspired to put your new skills into practice. You’ll be able to make messages for your friends and families, trick photos that are funny, and most probably your best profile picture ever!
2)Â UNIQUE PHOTOSHOOTÂ :
A skilled night photographer knows how to use a torch to create a surreal, glowing lighting. Results similar to an expensive studio can be achieved, the fun being that its done outside with an unbeatable backdrop. On top of that, there are many skills that can be employed, light writing/painting andd drawing, double exposures with flash, and more. These can be used to set up shots, or even a comic strip of images. Hearts, words, wings, fire, you name it!
