Port Stephens is a wonderland of recreational activities. North of Newcastle, it’s about a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there (we usually have a rest stop along the way).  We’ll tailor the 2-3 days according to what your groups interests are, some of the options are:

  • Gan Gan Lookout- Stunning view over Port Stephens
  • Dolphin/Whale Watching Cruise- Explore the magnificent Pot Stephens while in search of the 120 local bottle-nose dolphins. Help yourself to free tea or coffee or enjoy a drink from the licensed bar, and relax with the crew on the viewing decks. The dolphins often approach the boat so can be seen up close. Another great option in summer is to cool off by swimming in the boom net alongside the boat. During the right time of year (June-October) Whale watching tours are also available, which will take you outside the heads in order to see Humpbacks, Southern Right and Minke whales migrating north and south along the coast.
  • Fish Feeding (we know a great local secret, a spot that’s protected and fish will come in their hundreds)
  • Stockton Beach- Swim (summer only) or hang out on this amazing 32 km long beach stretching onto the horizon. You can also choose to ride a camel!
  • Anna Bay sand dunes- Directly behind the stunning Stockton Beach are huge sand dunes up to thirty metres high. A beautiful landscape and a great photo opportunity of you in the ‘Sahara Desert’!
  • Port Stephens 4WD & Sand Sliding- Take a big 4WD vehicle over the huge dunes to find the biggest dunes possible for all the sand boarding you can handle! Embrace the challenge, take a deep breath and whizz down huge sand dunes on special boards designed to fly.
  • Mt Tomaree Bushwalk- short but challenging walk to a look out with incredible views of the area.
